As you will find, our menu is filled with a variety of choices we have created using international, American, and local flavors. Looking for some real Mexican fun? Then Costa Rica’s Jaco Taco is the place for you! Lively Latin American music, delicious Mexican food, ice-cold Margaritas made from the finest tequila & an electric party atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re at the biggest fiesta in Costa Rica!

Wishbone

This casual spot is popular with surfers and offers Tex-Mex standards and homemade pizzas. However, you can also get excellent fresh fish and perfectly prepared seafood dishes, as well as a variety of sandwiches served in homemade pita bread. The portions are huge. It almost always has fresh tuna lightly seared and served with a soy-wasabi dressing. The nicest tables are streetside on a covered veranda. Inside are more tables, as well as a bar with television sets showing surf videos.

El Galeon

This is the top restaurant in a complex of restaurants found at the Los Sueños resort and marina. The setting is elegant, the service refined, and the menu wide-ranging, creative, and eclectic. Appetizers range from a Creole gumbo and seafood étoufée to crisp Asian-spiced soft-shell crabs and sea bass ceviche served with avocado and a local salsa. For the main course, I recommend the pistachio-crusted jumbo shrimp with a Pernod and anise sauce.

Hicaco

This beachside restaurant has gotten too popular for its own good. There’s now a cattle-car feel to the entire operation, and the food is overpriced and quality has declined. But the setting is simply wonderful: right on the edge of the beach, with the majority of the tables outdoors. At night you sit under the stars, surrounded by tall palm trees, with some interesting lighting overhead. If you do come here, stick with the freshly caught grilled seafood or lobster, although there are plenty of meat and chicken selections on the menu as well.

Rioasis

Rioasis serves hearty burritos, simple pasta dishes, and a wide array of freshly baked wood-oven pizzas. My favorite item is the Greek pizza, with olives, feta cheese, and anchovies, but the barbecue chicken pizza is also delicious. There is both indoor and terrace seating, as well as a bar area, complete with a pool table, dartboards, and a couple of TVs for sports events and surf videos.

El Pelicano

This simple beachfront restaurant is a lot like El Hicaco was before success went to its head. Heavy wooden tables and chairs are spread around a large, open-air dining room facing the beach and boats bobbing at anchor off Playa Herradura. The menu features a range of ceviches, salads, and main courses, with a heavy — and logical — emphasis on fresh seafood. The Corvina al ajillo (sea bass in garlic sauce) is excellent, as is the Arroz con mariscos (rice with seafood). To get here, drive the Playa Herradura road until you hit the beach, and then turn left on the narrow sandy access road.

Taco Bar

This casual little open-air joint serves up excellent food at great prices. The best option here is to order a one-, two- or three-taco plate with the accompanying salad bar. Choose from fresh fish, chicken, shrimp, calamari, or any combination of them. My favorites are the coconut shrimp and spicy fish fillings. The well-stocked salad bar features a wide range of stand-alone salads, as well as numerous toppings to finish off your tacos. You won’t leave here hungry. There are a few wooden tables outdoors under large umbrellas, but most of the seating is around a large “U”-shaped bar. The seats are either high stools or wood planks hung from ropes, like swings. They also serve breakfast, as well as pizzas and a small selection of full entrees, and offer free Wi-Fi for diners.

Lanterna

Bringing the aromas, the charm, and the flavors of Italy to Los Sueños, Lanterna Ristorante Italiano offers traditional Italian cuisine against the backdrop of the Los Sueños Marina. (Website)

The Terrace Lounge

Situated upstairs from Lanterna is The Terrace Lounge, where you will feel the romance of the European-style ambiance and design. Overlooking the Village, patrons can relax and enjoy a nightcap – or two- while listening to the comforting sound of jazz or the tropical beat of local entertainers. (Website)

The Hook Up

The Hook Up, located on the second floor of the Marina Entry Building, boasts one of the country’s premier locations, offering patrons a 270-degree panoramic view of the marina, Herradura Bay, and the surrounding mountains. This relaxing venue offers a pleasant combination of the old American classics like fish n’ chips and global comfort food, including homemade bread, desserts, and sauces. The Hook Up is a laid-back environment where you can enjoy a mix of classic rock and Latin pop tunes played over our state-of-the-art stereo system. Major sporting events are displayed on seven televisions located throughout the restaurant, with the most important matches projected onto the large screen over the bar. (Website)

Bambu

Travel to Asia without ever leaving Los Sueños. With its contemporary bamboo-inspired interior and waterfront location, Bambú diners will feel as though they have arrived in the Orient. A great menu of exotic Asian dishes will leave you with flavors to remember. (Website)

Dolce Vita

Dolce Vita’s dangerously comfortable patio furniture is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee and pastry with friends. Dolce Vita offers fresh bread, homemade ice creams, dessert, and specialty coffees. (Website)

Clarita’s

Claritas is the place in Jacó, Costa Rica to eat, drink, party, and play on the beach. Clarita’s world-famous open-air Beach Bar provides complete sports coverage on 7 large screen satellite TVs, free wi-fi, a pool table, darts, and music that puts the Waco in Jaco! (Website)

Poseidon

Evening brings life to our active, but a quaint restaurant where you can hear the sounds of soft jazz or the passing locals making their way from the beach.

Our chef, Patricia Ferguson, comes straight from Aspen and Denver Colorado. Patricia graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Denver and then spent a summer perfecting her skills at the Little Nell Hotel in Aspen Colorado. She now serves her “Asian-infused” mahi-mahi, tuna, filet migñon, and much more here in Jacó Costa Rica. The salad dressings are homemade and the thick pieces of yellowfin tuna are caught fresh daily. We have made the decision to keep a small menu and always focus on the quality of the food served. Patricia changes the menu every few days, so diners will always have a new dish to sample. Allow yourself to read the attached newspaper articles, which will give testimony to the recent notoriety the Hotel Poseidon Restaurant has gained in Jacó and San Jose. (Website)
